John L. Marchione practices exclusively in the area of marital and family law and is an associate attorney at Fraser Himes, P.A. Before beginning his practice in Florida with our predecessor firm, Himes & Hearn, P.A., John was an associate attorney at Hennessey & Bienstock, LLP, a prominent marital and family law firm in New York, New York. In his four years there, John handled high-net worth divorce matters and represented real estate developers, high-ranking business executives and partners at some of Manhattan’s largest law firms. John is well-versed in the complex financial issues which often arise in dissolution proceedings, as well as the emotional issues which often arise in child custody proceedings. He has experience in cases involving mental health or substance abuse issues. He also has experience with appellate litigation.

John earned his J.D. degree from New York Law School, summa cum laude, and was awarded the school’s prestigious Trustee’s Prize, given to the student graduating with the highest cumulative grade point average in the graduating class. At New York Law School, John served as a staff editor for the New York Law School Law Review and was also a member of the school’s Justice Action Center which provided him the opportunity to concentrate on matrimonial and family law from the inception of his legal career. Prior to law school, John earned his B.A. degree majoring in English from the University of Delaware where he was a writer and editor for the school’s student-run newspaper, The Review.

With his experience practicing in New York and Florida, and since marital and family law has been his sole focus since law school, John has a unique perspective and a wealth of experience when advising and counseling his clients. John is a strong advocate for his clients in litigation, but he strives to efficiently settle his matters and is capable of creatively resolving issues in cases when others might feel the cases have reached impasse. John always aims to achieve his client’s legal goals without sacrificing their personal ones.

John is a native New Yorker who relocated to the Tampa area with his family in 2015. He is admitted to practice in Florida, New York and New Jersey. John is a member of the Florida Bar Family Law Section, Hillsborough County Bar Association, and the American Bar Association. For the 2017-18 term, John served as co-chair of the HCBA’s prestigious Bar Leadership Institute which seeks to develop young attorneys into future bar leaders. John is trained and experienced in Collaborative Family Law, a no-court alternative dispute resolution process.
